The video presents fundamental trap and roll escape and all the details of the technique you should acquire.
Trapping opponents one side of the body
In order to make trap and roll mount escape work, you must successfuly trap one side of the opponents body. You can trap the arm which is strangling you for example, with the corresponding leg on the same side and perform a side bridging action.
You can trap the arm on any side but you must trap the leg on the same side as well
Performing a proper bridging action (UPA)
It is essential that you learn how to bridge properly in order to perform a successful trap and roll escape. It is a common mistake to bridge up in the air simply lifting your opponent over you and bringing him back down.
You must learn to bridge sideways in order to displace you opponent’s weight to either your left or right side, more importantly, on the side where his arm and leg are trapped.
